Guest Wi-Fi and surveillance for a Zirakpur highway hotel
A highway hotel in Zirakpur.
The problem
What the client was dealing with
Guests in the far rooms of a narrow high-rise could not hold a connection, and the reviews said so. The property management system sat on the same flat network as the guest Wi-Fi. Parking incidents on the highway frontage were regular, and the recorder held only a week of footage.
What we did
The work, in the order it happened
Every line below is something that was specified, installed and handed over.
- 01
Surveyed each floor and moved to corridor-mounted access points placed for the building's internal walls rather than spaced evenly on a drawing
- 02
Put guests on an isolated VLAN with client isolation, so a compromised laptop in one room cannot reach the PMS, the POS or another guest's device
- 03
Moved the property management and billing terminals onto a protected network segment behind the firewall
- 04
Extended camera coverage across the forecourt, parking, lobby, lift lobbies and back-of-house receiving, with no coverage inside guest rooms
- 05
Increased retention on the entrance and parking channels, which are the ones insurers and police actually ask for
- 06
Ran the cabling wing by wing in low-occupancy hours nominated by the duty manager, so no block lost service overnight
The outcome
What changed
TBC: the measurable outcome — Wi-Fi coverage measurements before and after, retention days achieved, any change in guest review scores, and naming permission
We publish outcome figures only once the client has confirmed them and agreed to their use. Until then this stays marked rather than estimated.
Services involved
What this was built from
Networking & cabling
Bad cabling shows up years later as a fault nobody can trace. We label every run, document every port and leave you a rack you can work in without a torch.

A camera is only useful if the footage is admissible and someone can find it. We survey the site, choose lens and mounting for the shot you actually need, and hand over a system your staff can search.

The firewall at your edge decides what reaches your staff. We configure it against your actual traffic, review the rules quarterly, and tell you which of them stopped something.
